Find out about Autumn sowing and planting with the New Brighton Gardens News Letter

On Sunday 19 March Community Gardeners enjoyed their first picnic together. It was attended by, Lyttelton Community Garden, Darfield Community Garden, Opawa Cpmmunity Garden, Delta Community Garden, Richmond Avebury Community Garden, Packe St Community Garden, Lincoln Community Garden, Kaiapoi Community Garden, Phillipstown Hub Community Garden, Okeover Community Garden, and New Brighton Community Garden.

In delicious sunshine we enjoyed each others company and talked growing food and community. One thing about community gardens is that the food is always delicious. New Brighton made a salad show casing soem of their many vaireties of tomatoes. Volunteers at Delta Community Garden whipped up a salad from  freshly harvested beetroot, carrots, spring leeks and courgettes.

Also a great thank you to Telogis Christchurch for donating the money for the wheelbarrows which are so necessary for community gardens and a lot of fun on the picnic day.
